Alex Manchester, Author of How to use social media to engage employees.

Alex Manchester is author of the new Melcrum research report, How to use social media to engage employees. He is also editor of the subscription journal KM Review, and Australian editor for The Internal Comms Hub.

Since joining Melcrum's London office in 2005, Alex has largely been involved with the subject of collaboration and social media within large organizations, contributing to the Strategic Communication Research Forum and presenting at a range of conferences, industry events and training programs, including the Internal Communication Black Belt Program.

Alex is now one of two full-time Melcrum employees operating from the company's new Sydney office.

Alison is Group General Manager Marketing for Goodman, an integrated global property group that owns, develops and manages industrial property with $35BN assets under management.

She joined the company in December 2006 and her main responsibilities include: the launch of a global re branding project across the 20 countries the group operates in, brand management, stakeholder communication strategies and overall management of the corporate image. Prior to joining Goodman, Alison had a long career at DHL, the worlds leading express and logistics company, operating in 228 countries.

Her roles included Vice President, Product and Market Research for DHL Express in the USA with responsibilities including management and development of DHL Express products in the USA as well as managing the strategic market research program and competitive intelligence . Alison has had an international career in marketing since joining DHL in Australia in 1990. In 1993 she became Head of Marketing for DHL New Zealand / Pacific Islands and in 1996 she moved to Singapore as Regional Brand Communications Director for the Asia Pacific / Middle East region.

In 1999 she returned to Australia as Marketing Director for the Oceania region. Alison relocated to Brussels in 2002 as Brand Communications Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa before taking over the role of Head of Global Marketing Communications in 2003 where she led the re launch and re positioning of the DHL brand in the US following the acquisition of Airborne in 2003. In 2006 Alison returned to Australia take up her current position.

Angela Beesley is a founder of Wikia. Wikia is hosting, supporting, maintaining, and developing over 3000 wikis in 70 different languages, including many of the world's largest community-created wikis such as the World of Warcraft wiki at and the Star Wars encyclopedia at starwars.wikia.com.

Angela is Chair of the Advisory Board of the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organisation responsible for Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikinews, and the other Wikimedia projects. Prior to this, Angela was an elected trustee of the Wikimedia Foundation.

Angela contributed a chapter on managing wikis to the book "Wikis: Tools for information Work and Collaboration" which was published in 2006. An Italian version was published in 2007 under the title "Oltre Wikipedia".

Angela has been involved with Wikipedia since early 2003 and blogs about wikis at http://wikiangela.com/blog.

Craig has been a professional trainer / facilitator for the past 13 years. He has trained thousands of people spanning Australia, Asia and the UK. He has had made a major impact in many of their lives by incorporating the practical skills of sales, service and coaching into peoples everyday work and life. 

Craig has a Graduate Diploma in Adult Education from UTS Sydney. In fact, a training programme he wrote, (Team Leadership), was a finalist in the AITD National Training Awards for 2001.  Craig is also is a Master Coach and has also obtained his Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. 

He runs a training environment which enables people to relax and get the most out of the training they attend.  He does this by utilising many Accelerated Learning techniques including music, colour, videos and activities.  These techniques are utilised so that participants have every opportunity to learn the required skills and behaviour to do their role which means the training dollar is well spent.

David Holloway RN MNg Grad Cert (Comm) has been involved with collaborative internet technologies since 1994, predominantly in the creative arts (music and writing). He was the first Australian employed as an online facilitator for US-based music collaboration service Rocket Network in the mid-90's and has written on technology issues since 1999 for a range of Australian and USA publications.

In October 2006 David founded SLOz (http://www.sloz.com.au), Australia's only dedicated Second Life news and community portal. David also writes for Crikey.com.au on Second Life.

Jim Truscott has been a crisis practitioner for 25 years, initially in Special Operations, where he was intimately involved in coordinating strategic responses to regional and global crises, and now as a consultant and chartered engineer on the Register of Engineers for Disaster Relief.

Jim has planned and controlled politically sensitive government operations for the successful resolution of regional and international crises in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Cambodia and Kuwait, the peace operations in Bougainville, East Timor, Solomon Islands and Fiji, prevention of fish poaching from the Southern Ocean, and the security for the Sydney Olympics.

Jim writes business contingency plans to deal with an array of issues, threats and risks, and he trains executives and Management Teams in the art of Crisis and Issue Management throughout Australia and Asia.

Jim’s experience in planning strategy in Situation Rooms and concurrently managing emergencies in Operations Rooms enables him to conduct challenging crisis simulation exercises for corporations and businesses across sectors. Jim is regularly invited to speak at nternational conferences.

Michael Ossipoff joined Telstra in October 1999. He is currently Telstra's Director of Capability. This operating unit is tasked with taking the entire Telstra product and service portfolio and bringing it to life in the minds of their corporate clients. The role is responsible for explaining and interpreting the implications of new technology trends and developments so that their customers can best prepare themselves to take advantage of emerging opportunities.

Michael has also held positions of Director of iVelocity, a 3.5 billion dollar start up business inside Telstra. He has also held the role of Director of Corporate Marketing, responsible for the entire marketing business plan, strategy and tactics.

Prior to Telstra, Michael was Managing Director of Sun Microsystems Software Business,
joining after his Dot Com business, Net Dynamics was acquired by Sun.

He also worked as Marketing and Sales Director at IBM / Lotus Software and has held international sales and marketing positions with Hewlett-Packard and NCR.

Michael brings over 18 years experience in the IT sector. His perspectives and experiences come from both a major corporate and start up company basis, mixed with his sales and marketing background, as well as his insight from operating his own marketing research company.

Ro Coroneos, former General Manager, Global Sustainability Group. Lend Lease Corporation was responsible for the operations of the Lend Lease Global Sustainability Group, embedding sustainability strategies, non-financial performance measurement and reporting frameworks, and change management with Sustainability Executives across 13 business units globally.  Ro also engages in local and international advocacy on a range of sustainability issues impacting Lend Lease, with government, NGOs, corporate counterparts and employees.   

She is an Internationally recognised expert in the latest sustainability thinking to real estate development, investment management, retail, design and construction, collaborating with business to facilitate understanding of all aspects “triple bottom line” impacts.

Mr. B. Sudhakar is the Head - Corporate HR and Communications at Tata Chemicals Limited (TCL). With a work experience spanning over 18 years, he has served in varied vertical industry segments like Electronics, Pharmaceuticals, Steel, Fertilizers, Chemicals and Infocomm.

A post graduate in Business Management from the prestigious Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad, India, Mr. Sudhakar has done extensive work in the areas of HR policy formulations, Communications, design of innovative people processes, integrated performance management, rewards and recognition systems. He has substantial experience in HR, due diligence and Communications during Mergers and acquisitions, integration during and post the M&A and has done considerable work in the area of applied behavioral sciences.

Mr. Sudhakar is on the Expert panel on HR in The Associated Chambers of commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) and Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). He is also a member of the Asia council of Human Resources of the Conference Board and the All India Management Association (AIMA).
