How to avoid 'oops!' in copyright: What every communications professional should know! - 16 Mar 2012

Creators, curators, or consumers…as communicators we encounter copyright in every aspect of our working lives. The digital age has brought a whole new range of contexts in which the laws now need to be considered and there is often a fine line between a permitted use and a potential infringement.

In today’s digital environment, organisations access and share information every day. News clippings, wire feeds, media analysis, profiling and tracking services as well as a wide range of competitive intelligence and industry reports. And the communications team is usually at the centre of it all.

The best intentioned communications may unknowingly leave you exposed to copyright infringement yet complying with copyright needn’t be a burden. Often a little knowledge can go a long way. In this informative session, you will be guided through:

  • A refresher on the copyright basics
  • A better understanding of the boundaries in relation to digital output and who actually owns the copyright
  • How to master practical initiatives and product solutions
  • A chance to workshop practical scenarios as well as a Q&A session
